Markers

Hi

I have several markers on one slide, and each one has a Visited state (to turn green) when the user hovers over them and some associated audio has finished playing - this currently works fine.  However, if a user happens to click on the marker, instead of hovering, the marker turns green without waiting for the audio to finish.  How can I stop the marker turning to a Visited state if the user happens to click instead of hover?  I don't really want to have to build more triggers to achieve this but I can't see any other way.  Surely, as the trigger is a hover, clicking the marker shouldn't have any affect, but sadly it does.

Any suggestions welcome.  Thanks in advance, Sarah.

  • Visited just means clicked, so you could use a custom state and add triggers to control that showing.

Thanks for replying so swiftly Phil.  That worked a treat, thank you!

  • FYI: The built-in states come with built-in functionality. For example, as Phil pointed out, an object with a Visited state will automatically change to Visited when clicked. An object with a Hover state will automatically show that state on mouse over.

You can often save time programming by relying on the built-in functionality. And you can save yourself headaches by knowing when you need to avoid it.
