Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry you're running into a corrupt file! There's no one reason why this error appears, but we've found that saving your file locally while editing your course helps with erratic behavior.
It sounds like you've tried multiple things to try and recover it but have been unsuccessful. I'd like to have our support engineers lend a hand and see if they can recover any part of the file.
