I'm primarily looking for a workaround, but am also low-key wondering if I've run into a bug (or two) or if this is intended functionality. We've added a "navigation help" tab to our elearning course template. We noticed early on that if we leave the slide state set to "automatically decide" Storyline will restart slides from the beginning of the timeline when the Navigation Help menu is closed. Pretty problematic if the user was halfway through a 10 or 15 minute video. However, when we set those slides to "resume saved state" we found that we were no longer able to go back and review slides that have video and were set to automatically advance. There may be a better way to work the Help menu functionality, or a better way to do a lot of things, but I'm currently a little stumped and am interested in feedback from the community. Here are two examples I mocked up... This might turn to a rant, but I just don't enjoy returning to a project and realizing that some assets are missing from the screen that were previously there. I don't know if they were accidentally deleted somehow because the software was running very slowly or through some other means. All I know is that it was unintentional and now I have to spend time recreating those assets again, given that there are no previous versions that can be recovered (not sure why either). There continue to be frustrating aspects of Storyline that result in these situations, including very slow speeds and limited recoverability (at the mercy of Windows Explorer). Maybe this can serve as feedback, but I do think there should be an easier way of recovering earlier versions of a Storyline project...13Views0likes1CommentDisable a audio layer in Storyline 360
I am looking for a way to disable an audio layer. I created text-to-speech for every slide in my 70 slide course. I am using this for CC and preview audio. I am now putting in voice over, but want to keep the text-to-speech layers. I do not want them to play and cannot find a way to disable them. Seems like a very easy task. thanks for the help12Views0likes2CommentsStoryline - remove "Menu" tab row in sidebar
I want to remove the "row" that contains the "Menu" tab in the sidebar. I'm showing only the menu in sidebar, not Glossary or Notes, so don't need the "Menu" label or tab, and want the vertical space back. See attached. I searched but did not see a discussion on how to do this. Thanks for your help.30Views0likes3CommentsPublishing to Sharepoint
I am currently working on getting my completed Storyline 360 projects onto our company SharePoint site, but I'm having trouble. We're using Office 365. I attempted to use the advise found in an old community post which was to: Publish to Web Copy story.html file, then rename to launch, and update file extension to .aspx. Save output folder to SharePoint site files. Copy launch.aspx link and paste into embed field on the SharePoint page part. When I do this, it tells me that the file doesn't exist. If I use the story.html link, it makes the user download the file, then opens it in a new browser tab. Is there anyway to embed the video directly into the SharePoint page?51Views0likes4CommentsAccessibility 360 images
Hi! I have run into a problem with keyboard accessibility on the 360 images. Using NVDA screen reader. When the slide first loads, the hotspots and markers are able to be accessed by keyboard (good) but if I click on a hotspot or marker to show a layer, once the layer is closed, I can't tab to any of the hotspots or markers again. The arrow keys still work to move the image and I can access the button that is on top of the image. Is there something I'm missing? I've created multiple slides with layers and variables to control the next button, playing TTS audio, changing the close button's state for the layer, and changing the layer's button on the main slide. Layers include individual "layer viewed" (number) and "all layers viewed" (T/F) for the slide. Each layer is setup to play the TTS if the "all viewed" is False or if the individual "layer viewed" is grater than zero. In other words, if it's the first time visiting, or if you're revisiting the layer, play the TTS audio. The "layer viewed" variable is set to 1 when the timeline starts on the layer. The layer's close button is setup to appear when the TTS audio completes on the layer, which also triggers the layer's button on the main slide to move to a custom "complete" state. Once all buttons on the main slide are "complete" the "all layers viewed" variable is set to True, and allows the Next button to be selectable. Because we are showing the play/pause button and seek bar in the player, the replay button appears. However, any of the layers with this setup will replay (seek bar starts over) but the audio doesn't paly and the close button disappears. The only way to get get off the layer is to go back one slide, then come back to the same slide which resets the button states from complete to normal. Is there a way to get the replay button to replay the TTS audio with this type of variable setup? I need to prevent learners from closing the layer before the audio completes, I need to set the button on the main slide to complete once the audio has completed on the layer, and I need the close button once the audio completes on the layer. All of this works perfectly with the current setup, however the replay button in the current issue that I can't seem to fix. Example of the triggers on the layers and base layer attached for reference. The "all layers viewed" is the "Expectations_Viewed" variable in the screenshots. Any suggestions?17Views0likes0CommentsMultiply 4 numeric values
I'm trying to create a business potential calculator in Storyline 360 that multiplies 4 numerical values (NV for below) to result in a dollar amount. Below is what I'm trying to accomplish. NV1 x NV2 x NV3 x NV4 = NV $Amount I'm having trouble coming up with variables and triggers for the Calculate button as I can only multiply one variable with just one other variable rather than multiple variable. I've seen some tutorials on adding up numbers behind the scenes or calculating with only 2 variables, but I'm unable to find something that can multiply 4 numbers together to get a result. I'm creating this in a table so each NV has a descriptor on the slide. I'm at beginner level with using variables, so any way to make this easy to understand would be fantastic. Much appreciated!12Views0likes1CommentInsert button for AI text to speech is missing
Hello: I have been working to incorporate the new AI voices in projects, replacing the current text to speech but after generating the audio, the insert button at the bottom is not showing. I need to add the audio to the media library and then insert manually. Can you fix that? Also, it would be great if the text used to generate the AI text to speech could be updated, since currently it's only generated an audio file that cannot be adjusted.Solved44Views0likes3Comments
