Autoplay of Video in Rise/Storyline
Hi, I set a video to autoplay for a storyline scene with the workaround suggested by Articulate (adding a cover picture for the first slide). In the storyline preview, the video did autoplay with all the triggers. However, after publishing it in preview 360 and embedding into Rise, the autoplay does not work and it does not jump to the slide with the video at all. Instead, the storyline interaction only shows the cover page. Is there an issue with Storyline or is the autoplay limited in that sense? I would like the "Play" button to be removed when embedding it into a Rise block (like any other Storyline interaction) Other tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

this is a browser restriction for autoplay audio and video (with audio)
here some background infos for autoplay media
- Chrome: https://developer.chrome.com/blog/autoplay/
- Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-autoplay
- iOS: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/13266474/autoplay-audio-on-mobile-safari
the user interaction in rise does not count for storyline if they are hosted in different domains (LMS <-> Review 360)
if you remove the "Play" button (there are tricks to do this), the video will not start anymore

Hi, I am having the same problem as above.
I have tried the cover page solution with a trigger to auto-play when slide 1 timeline starts.
I have added to a Rise course that I am viewing in Edge browser.
I still get the play button appearing on slide 1.
Anything else that I am not doing??
Thank you!
Hello JaniceCampbell- ! You're not doing anything wrong as this behavior is browser-based. Only Firefox consistently allows Storyline blocks to autoplay. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Safari sometimes don't autoplay content, which results in the Play button appearing.
