I've been working on a Learning Journal for Rise. I have an Alpha version I'd like to share on SCORM Cloud and in a YouTube video. The features we have included so far are: Comments persisted between sessions (SCORM 1.2) Save comments, associated with blocks individual blocks Comments are organised into topics/pages Edit existing Comments Delete Comments Print comments (to printer, or PDF is you have the required software installed) Export comments to Word (*.doc) Pagination (If comments exceed a defined number, they are split into pages) There are some things that needs to be finalised which will not take a great deal of work to complete. SCORM 2004 compatibility Mobile compatibility WCAG 2.2 AA What I'm looking for is a bit of community input, as I know people have wanted this feature for quite some time. This is my best guess of how somebody might use a learning journal, but would love to hear any other examples of how it could function, or additional useful features that could be included. Here's the video on YouTube (video embedding still a problem on this forum):Rise Learning Journal If you would like to check it out on SCORM Cloud. You can visit this URL: Rise Learning Journal on SCORM Cloud Update (3rd December 2024) I have continued to work on this project and it is now SCORM 2004 compatible. Again, it is using the cmi.comments_from_learner. Unfortunately I found a significant issue with the Articulate implementation of the SCORM 1.2 and 2004 comments. I am in communication with support after logging the issue. I am hoping I can convince them that the implementation is incorrect, and the base script is updated. In the meantime, I am applying a patch to the Articulate "WriteComment" function to ensure comments are stored correctly for SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004. I have also made some cosmetic changes and updated the CSS for the HTML to ensure the application picks up the current Rise module theme (colours, fonts etc). I've fixed a few bugs I have found along the way with regards to deleting journal entries, and editing journal entries when not on the page they originated from. This all appears to be working really well now. My next priority will be working on the CSS to ensure it is mobile compatible. Once all of the HTML and CSS is finalised, I'll then work on the accessibility. I've been implementing aria attributes as I go along, but there is still some testing and development to be done on that side of things. I will be looking to release this as a BETA to a handful of people early in the new year.92Views3likes7CommentsProblem with embed storyline in rise
I have a problem with a storyline. When I embed it in rise, a thin band appears at the bottom of the embed space and it is not possible to suppress it. I've already modified the masks but the problem persists. Could you please help me ? Thank you by advance.31Views0likes3Commentsturn off notifications for commentators
Hello, We use Rise and allow colleagues to comment without personal accounts. We process these comments and mark them as "Done" to document completion. A new review link is created only after addressing all comments. However, commentators receive an email notification of completion beforehand, which they are not expecting. Is it possible to turn off these notifications? Thank you and kind regards Susanne38Views0likes3CommentsSome images are too big
Hello -- Some images I have captured, via SnagIt, have come into Rise 360 way too big (and blurry). I've tried reducing image size; tried copying and pasting image in a PowerPoint slide and saving image of that image; tried saving it as a PNG file; played with the aspect ratio and DPI settings ... Our application logo is comes in way too big as well and is blurry. Any other tips? Thank you.20Views0likes2CommentsChange font size of course title
Hello, I really like the "Apex" theme and we have been using this on all of our courses for the past few months. However, I have a 'bugaboo' that I can't find a fix for (if it even exists). Is it possible to change the font size for the course title? It seems extremely large and I'm getting some feedback that sometimes the learners can't immediately find the "Start Course" button because the text size is too distracting. Additionally, it is in almost comical juxtaposition with the font size of the lessons on the cover page. I have attached some screen captures to illustrate what I am talking about - this is while previewing the course on a 13" laptop screen, which is what our learners primarily use to take our courses. Thanks!105Views0likes15CommentsRise quiz questions disappear if you tab backwards (SHIFT+TAB) using a keyboard
Just in case anybody else comes across this issue, a case has been logged with Articulate: Case Number: 03559329 My experience is that when navigating through quiz questions using your keyboard, if you choose to tab backwards through a question, the quiz question will disappear and remain missing until you tab forward into the question again.8Views0likes3CommentsHeader over Bulleted List
I want to put a header or title of the bullets and use the Bulleted List feature and I want it to look like the below. I want to use the feature because I want the bullets to be in color, as opposed to the right click method to access a bullet list. There’s a cool new feature in Rise that makes your courses even easier for learners to use: collapsing sections. Now learners can collapse and expand sections of the course outline in the sidebar to quickly see the structure of your course. Here’s how it looks: We hope you’ll love this latest enhancement to the learner experience in Rise!40Views0likes39CommentsLaunching Rise Site with Collapsed Menu
Hi community! I want to launch a Rise course with the menu showing, but the contents within it collapsed so that just the main lesson titles are showing. I'm actually using Rise for a repository of articles and videos where the "Lesson" is the topic (e.g., Coaching) and when users click on the drop down menu, they will see the articles and videos as sublevel contents. I've attached pictures of how the menu looks today (expanded) and how I would like it to look (collapsed). My IT contact is thinking that perhaps the Java Script in the export zip file can be altered. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!59Views0likes11Comments
