Starting point requirements in Storyline tutorials (for new users)

https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-storyline-360/articles/storyline-360-text-styles?_ga=2.4629045.722254032.1621968577-496003260.1617992968#getting-started

I've seen this several times in tutorials for Storyline 360, but saw the issue again in this tutorial while researching accessibility options and thought I'd ask the question: Can an initial starting point or requirement or note of some sort be added to tutorials where the first screenshot shows a tab or feature location but there are certain unspoken requirements in order to see the feature displayed?

I included a link to a tutorial where the first screenshot shows the location for using Text Styles, but if you're relatively new to Storyline you might find it difficult to locate the Format tab that is shown in the tutorial's first screenshot. I think it might help to include a note to explain that you have to have a text box selected in order to see this feature as shown in the screenshot. Just a suggestion, but it took me a moment to realize that it isn't a static ribbon tab and insert a text box to get it to display. These tutorials are very valuable to me, thanks so much for creating them!

  • Hi Steve!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us! I can see how it would be helpful to include that information in the tutorial. I'll bring this to the attention of our team in charge of documentation.

I'm so glad they're helpful for you!
