Closed Captions Colour, Style and Position
Hi, I was wondering if there is any way to modify the position and the colouring of the font and the dark square of the closed captions. My problem is that the original position is over the menu bar, I need to move them up so they appear above the video and not above the menu bar, is this posible?
Hello Everyone!
I'm happy to share that we have released Storyline 360 version 86 (Build 3.86.32028.0).
Included in this release we have two new features:
- Position captions at the top or bottom of the slide to ensure closed caption visibility and prevent the obstruction of critical course content.
- Customize the foreground and background colors of closed captions to complement your course design and maintain contrast accessibility.
All you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let us know if you have any questions by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.
Have a great day!
Hello Digital Latam!
This is a feature request we've logged for our Engineering team! I don't have an update, but when I do I'll report back.
We do have community members who have created a workaround to implement this. I'll hand it over to them so they can share their brilliance!

Hi Lauren, thank you, it’s great idea!!
Do you have news about the feature request to the Engineering team & also if you fond in the community members a workaround to implement it?

I'm having this problem too, so would be great to know about a workaround, thanks!

Hi Anna,
I also wanted to jump in and share another community workaround that I think you might find helpful here. I am hoping that more of the community can chime in to provide their insights!

Thank you Vincent to sharing the community workaround info. Please, feel free to share more updates that can be helpful.

Hi Anna,
This discussion might point you in the right direction for a current workaround, though it uses Javascript, which we don't support.
We'll be sure to jump in here when we have any progress to share on this feature request!

I have searched through several topics here and reviewed the workarounds. I have not found a viable solution for moving screen caption locations. Any updates?
Hi Bob,
Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community!
I don't have an update at this time, but we do have this logged as a feature request! I will certainly share your comments with the team and update this discussion with any changes. I also wanted to share some information about how we manage these feature requests as that may be helpful.
