Attempt counter

Hello heroes!

There is a course that includes 14 graded questions (Articulate 3). Before the start of testing, the employee is given an instruction stating that he is given only 3 attempts for the entire test. That is, if they answer 3 times incorrectly within 14 questions, he will start over. These attempts are visualized as stars at the top of the slide. If an employee makes a mistake, one of the stars changes state. I created a variable "Counter" with a value of 3. On the master slide of the incorrect response layer, I created triggers (change the state of the star if the counter decreases by 1).

The problem is that at the first incorrect answer, the star changes its state, but on the next slide they return to their original state.

Heroes, please tell me how to implement this? I will be very grateful to you for your help!

  • Hello Dmitriy,

    Happy to help!

I made some additions to your triggers to get your concept to work properly.

You'll need a trigger to change the states of the stars when moving to a new slide, and the 'When the timeline starts on this slide' event takes care of this.

Let me know if this works for you!

  • Hello, Joe! Yes, it works the way it should. You are a super professional! Thank you very much!

  • Hello, Dmitriy! So glad that my colleague Joe was able to assist you!
