adding slide # progression status

Is there a way to add question progression status to quizzes?

"Question 1 of 10"

  • Hi Fred,

Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community!

This is a great question! I'm happy to share that you do have the option to add slide numbers so learners can track their progress. There are a few different ways to display slide numbers in your course. To use the specific format you asked about, you'll want to follow these steps:

    1. Select an object or slide where you want the number to appear.
    2. Go to the Insert tab on the ribbon and click the top half of the Slide Number button.

      3. Next, select the bottom half of the Slide Number button, and choose Total Slides in Menu.

If you have additional questions, please let me know! You can reach out here, or privately in a support case.

  • Hi Kelly,

Thank you for your reply. I should have been a little more concise. I'm just getting started using Articulate 360 applications. I should have asked "Is there a way to add question progression status to quizzes in Quizmaker". I have not ventured into Storyline.

  • Hi Fred,

I'm happy to chime in! The closest option would be to use the Question List in the Quizmaker player options. My colleague, Ashley, discusses details in this post.

You may also consider using Storyline 360 as it is more feature-rich than Quizmaker and adding slide numbers is available. I appreciate your patience in learning Articulate 360 apps! For your reference, here's the complete user guide for Storyline 360:

If Storyline is more feature-rich than Quizmaker and includes the ability to add slide numbers, what are the compelling reasons to use Quizmaker over Storyline?

  • Hi Joseph,

When choosing between Quizmaker and Storyline, how you plan to use the quiz is the most compelling reason.

    • If you plan to include the quiz in a Presenter presentation, I would use Quizmaker.
    • If you plan to include the quiz in a Storyline course, I would use Storyline.
    • If the quiz will stand alone, I would use either one!

    I hope this helps out!

Is there a plan to bring Quizmaker's look and feel up-to-date to align with Storyline's look and feel (e.g., the Player is vintage Storyline 2 with the "chicklet"-style buttons, no Modern Player option) and include the paging variables Storyline is using (the topic of this conversation) so a "Question # of #" can be inserted at the Master Slide level?

        Hello Joseph!

To be honest, we aren't making any significant changes to Presenter 360, Quizmaker 360, or Engage 360 going forward. This includes updating Quizmaker's interface and adding Slide Number variables. We'll continue to fix issues that stem from operating system upgrades, browser updates, PowerPoint changes, and security vulnerabilities. Any updates related to quizzing will be developed for Storyline 360 or Rise 360.
