Weird hyperlink issue

Is anyone else seeing this? If we make a hyperlink out of wrapped text, a weird little... ligature? underscore?... appears in the hover, active, and visited states. We can't figure out how to get rid of it. I've attached before and after pics to illustrate. If you've encountered this, have you figured out how to fix it?
