Time Saving Upgrades to the Timeline from the recent Update are not really Time Saving!
Hi E-Learning Heroes,
In the most recent update of Storyline 360 significant time saving upgrades were included for everyone to enjoy. And whilst I agree that these upgrades are great, one very important issue was overlooked.
When you select an object on the timeline and you press Ctrl + V to paste another object (e.g. a rectangle, image or text) it appears right above the first object as intended. BUT Storyline 360 still scrolls the entire timeline to the top. This is EXTREMELY counter-productive and most of my colleagues immediately noticed that this does not make sense and the pre-april-update way of working was either faster or equally as fast when it comes to this.
If I copy something and I paste it, it appears above the object I selected, but Storyline scrolls straight past the place where I copied it right to the top. Before this update if you would copy anything to the timeline it would appear at the top of the timeline, and therefore it made sense that Storyline 360 would automatically scroll to the top.
Now this does not make sense anymore and it's incredibly frustrating because you have to scroll down manually again to find the object that you pasted (which is harder then knowing "owh it's simply at the top of the timeline").
Please fix this. This oversight is maddening for developers who work full-time with Storyline 360.
I have added a video that demonstrates this issue perfectly. As you can see, pasting an object and subsequently dragging the object from the top to "where you need it" costs just as much time as having Storyline 360 paste the object where you need it but you still end up at the top of the timeline and you need to scroll to continue where you left off.
This is especially troublesome on larger projects with slides that contain 20+ objects (even with many groups).
Best regards.
Melvin
