Storyline compresses videos over and over again
Hello Storyline developers,
I notice that when I try to publish a new project, Storyline starts compressing all the videos over and over again; even when it already has done so the previous time! Why is Storyline doing this? You only need to recompress the video if it has changed, and otherwise not. You can easily check if a video has changed or not by calculating the checksum.
Now, every time I try to publish the project it takes 20 minutes or so for compressing the videos. I write try, because 75% of the time it fails during the upload fase :-(.
Publishing a project this way has become very cumbersome (and almost impossible)!

two important settings for video
set video 'Compression' to 'None'* -> faster publish + better video quality
publish set 'Video Quality' to 'Static' -> faster publish, more compatible with some LMS server
* this is only available, if storyline don't recompress video on import

Thanks for those two suggestions!!
They help speeding up the publish process tremendously!
I can only not test the result because the uploading of the project fails most of the time :-/.
Hi Jeroen,
I'm glad Jurgen's suggestions were helpful!

@Kelly:
My advice/suggestion for Storyline:
Change the default settings of the video compression and/or use a checksum to check which video already have been compressed (or not). You could also use this technique to check if a video has already been uploaded or not. This save the user a lot of time and lowers the load on the Articulate servers.
Thanks for this feedback, Jeroen! I've shared your comments with our developers.
