Slider - Alignment

Hi,

Alignment of lines (as attached) in slider can be challenging.

Dragging of slider is not aligned to the lines I have inserted. Kindly guide.

Malvika

  • Distributing the bars horizontally - makes them go beyond slider zone.

Hi Sanchit - can you share the slide so someone can take a look at the setup

  • Set the initial value of slider to 0. Then drag bar for 0 to where the thumb on the slider is. Set the initial value of the slider to 1, etc. When finished, set the initial value to where you need it.

  • Hi Walt,

The issue is that those 10 lines are not coming as equal. They are unevenly spread out.

  • Set the initial value of slider to 0. Then drag the left mark to where the thumb on the slider is. Set the initial value of the slider to 1 and move the next mark. By the time you get to 10, you will realize you don’t have enough marks.  The issue actually is that you have 9 spaces, and 10 stops on the slider. (You need a start mark, and an end mark. Between them, the slider moves 10 times, so you need 10 spaces between those marks. Count them, that's 11 marks)

Add a mark, set the beginning and end marks (that will be much easier if you move the slider behind the marks), select them all, and use align to distribute horizontally.

According to the picture, what you are missing is the 11th mark.

Got it. So basically I need "Count of steps+1" always in slider.

  • Hi Malvika,

Walt is correct, you needed one more line to cover all of the steps in your slider. Here's an edited version of your project file with another line added. You'll see that the lines now line up with the steps in your slider after adding an additional line and using the arrange option to distribute the lines horizontally.

Let me know if you need anything else!
