Publish to Word - image quality

I am publishing my Storyline 360 course to Word and the images look bad (the quality is bad, compression or ...). Is there a way to fix this (setting the compression)?

  • There are only 2 image-quality options when you publish to Word: Medium or Large.

If you don't think the quality of the Large images is good enough, you'd have to do screen captures of all the slides to get better quality.

I agree! My client want's PDf versions of the course as as study aid.  If you publish to Word and the PDF it, it looks awful :(  At this point we are either looking at doing a screen grab of very single slide in Storyline (sometimes this is 200+ slides) or creating a PowerPoint version specifically to create a decent looking PDF. That is a lot of re-work.

  • I came here for the same question. This is so frustrating! I came across requests around Word image quality in discussions from 10 years ago.

      Hi Lisa!

I'm sorry to hear image quality after publishing to Word has been causing you trouble!

One of our other community members shared a helpful tip for improving image quality when publishing from Storyline to Word.

Also, if you're comfortable sharing the .story file, I'd be happy to take a closer look to see if any improvements can be made to the images being used. Feel free to upload a copy here in the discussion or privately through a support case.
