Post Submit navigation

In my design I want the learner to complete some non-graded knowledge checks and return to a specific slide. This works properly on the first run through the slides. As you will see in the sample they have to get the answer correct to continue.

Problem: after they return to the slide and review continue, I notice the submit button turns to navigation buttons in the player. After they review the answers, the next button takes them to the NEXT slide which I do not want them to go to. Is there a way to customize this functionality. I do not see where the Prev-Next are triggered. See attachment please. I am using the current version of SL3 not 360.

  • I'm pretty sure that's a built-in function of hotspot quizzes.

I can suggest two possible alternatives. My personal preference is to use built-in quizzes only if I want a score passed to an LMS. Otherwise, I love the flexibility of creating my own quizzes. In this case, I would have the wrong answers show a Try Again layer (I may even use the built-in one), and the right answer show the Correct layer. It would look and act like the built-in quiz, but without the Submit button or triggers. When they return, there is no Next button problem.

Another option that would you to keep things as they are is to create the Next slide, and have it Jump to the correct slide when its timeline starts.

I initially had started building using the first option but I got lazy without knowing the result. Your second plan is a sneaky way around having to rebuild. Also, it not just built in for hotspot quizzes because the Prev-Next navigation appears on all the slides after submission.
