No states for a hotspot?
I'm trying to create a knowledge check with multiple true-or-false questions on one page. From what I understand, the only way to make this possible is through the pick-many hotspot freeform design. I do think it's strange that hotspots can't have a selected or hover state though.
How else are users supposed to know, visually, that an option has been selected and that they can then submit the answers? Is there any way of making this look much better visually for clarity, or am I just stuck with the hotspots?

Instead of hotspots, use shapes with a solid fill that 100%-transparent. Add whatever states you want to those.
The main disadvantage to this method is that you can't see the shapes when you're editing the slides. Otherwise, it works well.
