Modern Storyline Player "Prompt to Resume" Function Not Working When XAPI Reporting is Used

Hello,
I am having an issue that I am hoping to get some advice on.

The issue is with Storyline 360 Player Resume function not working correctly with XAPI reporting when I export a file to my company's LMS.

This issue is only impacting the Resume function (i.e. the prompt to resume popup) that appears to learners if they want to rejoin the course on the slide they were last on.

When I publish the course for Web/HTML and upload it to the LMS, the player resume function is working correctly.

However, when I publish the same course to LMS/LRS (XAPI) and then upload the link to my company's LMS, the resume popup no longer appears and the resume function does not work. It takes the learner back to the start of the course and does not show in the course menu what slides were last visited.

I am using the Modern player and I have changed the player settings to "prompt to resume" for the file. I have also tested the file already in Scorm Cloud with the LMR/LRS publish settings and the resume function is working correctly on Scorm Cloud but it does not work in the LMS itself.

The course is exporting both xAPI and javascript data on slides and the individual slide states are also set to 'resume saved state' (instead of reset to initial state).

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if the community might have any advice?

Thank you,

  • Hi Team,

I am facing same issue as well. When enabling "Report to an external LRS", the resume prompt is not showing .

Please let me know if any fix was found for this.

    Thank you!

  • Hi Rahul,

Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community! I'm sorry to hear that you're running into this issue, but I'm happy to help troubleshoot.

    • First, I'd like to confirm that you've you can set the resume behavior to Always resume?
    • Next, you can test your file in SCORM Cloud
      • If the course works correctly in SCORM cloud, then I suggest that you reach out to your LMS provider to troubleshoot the issue. They'll know how best to help with LMS-specific problems.
      • If it doesn’t work in SCORM cloud, that indicates the issue lies within your project. The next step would be to reach out to us in a support case.

    I hope this helps!
