Modern Player Question
Hello,
I have a Storyline file that starts with a video and have decided to only use Player Controls and a Cover Photo. I'm also using the light color of modern player and my Story Size and video are set to 1920 x 1080. When I view my project, the player puts white bars on each side of the video. The only time I can fill the entire player is by clicking "Zoom to Fit" within the settings icon of the player controls. Is there any way to get rid of these bars and have my video fill the entire player without zooming into the video itself?
Hi Christopher,
Zoom to Fit is an accessibility feature that allows learners to make the slides larger.
The space that you are seeing is due to the player frame, which is about 20px.
Here is a published example using the setting you shared above, and this is an example of the same file with the player turned off.

Hello Leslie,
Thank you for responding to my post. Is there a way to keep the Player Controls while getting rid of the extra 20px of padding for the player frame? The 20px of padding is what I really want to remove. The "published example using the setting you shared" link is closest to what I'm looking for, but I can't seem to recreate that in Storyline without that extra padding from the player. I just want my 1920x1080 video to fit the full width of the modern player. I actually don't even want the player frame at all - only the Player Controls. Forgive me if one of the links above points me to the answer, but I couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for.

Hi Christopher,
To help clarify, you only have the option to remove both the menu and controls option together, so you won't be able to keep player controls while removing the player frame.
Setting your story size to your video size is the closest width you can adjust. You may consider looking at the Video Tools options to try different features such as show video controls or choose to show video in a new browser window.
Outside of that, we're currently tracking the ability to toggle full-screen videos within a course. It sounds like that might be a good fit for you as well, so I'll add you to the list of folks that have requested it and keep you updated on any changes.

Hi Ren,
That sounds great! Thank you for clarifying and adding me to the list! I look forward to future updates!
Hello, Christopher.
I have exciting news to share!
We have just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 67, we've included important fixes and features.
One of the features we've included is:
Adding a player toggle to let learners view courses in full-screen mode.
To take advantage of this feature, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Happy developing!
