Hi Christine,
If you apply H2 Dark to the parent slide in the slide master, it will apply your H2 Dark down to all the layouts. But because those default layouts pull from the master slide, they are inheriting its properties. You can delete the placeholder text that's there and replace it with a new text box that isn't inherited from the master.
