item identifier in the IMS manifest files
Good afternoon,
I have created an e-Learning module in Rise and I need to replace it with an updated version in our LXP.
If I make the changes to the module and export it as a SCORM package again for our LMS, will the new SCORM package still have the same item identifier in the lMS manifest file?
Regards,
Steve
Hi Steve! Yes, your course will still have the same identifier.
One thing you may want to consider is the experience of learners who are in progress when you upload the new version. You can reset learner progress to prevent learners from seeing a blank page due to mismatched resume data. This doesn't always happen, but we've given you a solution if it does!

Hi Crystal, this does not seem to be the case every time I test it. I have to manually update the manifest ID in the imsmanifest.xml file every time. Is there another way to re-publish a course other than clicking "publish" that I don't know about? Thanks. I see this was previously discussed here: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/rise-360/rise-360-and-scorm-manifest-identifier
Hi Rachel!
I'm happy to chime in! You are correct; the only way to republish a Rise course to LMS is by using the Publish button. Regarding the manifest ID, can you reach out to your LMS administrator and inquire whether there is a way to republish a course and tag it as a modification instead of a new one?
Looking forward to your response.
