How can I place an animation while loading rise 360 SCORM package?

We export our courses as a Scorm package and then integrate them into our own system. When starting the courses, the message “Your content is loading” is displayed for a relatively long time > can this be replaced by a pleasant, surprising graphic animation?

  • I don't think you can replace that message without altering the source code. But once the content has loaded, you can place a gif animation and a bespoke message on a 'loading screen', as in this example.

This helps to compensate for any further 'load lag', which can sometimes happen with lots of audio or large images, depending on your user's bandwidth.

The 'Obtaining Signal Lock' screen is a slide triggered to jump to the next screen as soon as the timeline starts, but on a slow connection it remains on display until the following slides have loaded and caught up.

    Hope this helps?

Thanks for your answer and examples, they look very nice! But I have the feeling that this solution would delay loading even more, because “Your content is loading” would still come from the Rise Course and then the animation. The content is already displayed at this point ...

Ah, you're talking specifically about courses authored in Rise, not Storyline, I overlooked that.

I know it's possible to make certain changes to Rise post-publication, my editing the HTML file, but adding a custom animation would be quite specialised.

Could the bandwidth on your platform / LMS be improved to reduce the loading time?

Do your Rise courses contain lots of large graphics or videos, and could those be optimised?
