Hi, just to close this off. I looked at all the options and decided that I wanted to continue to do this a free way, rather than use Rev.com for now, as my videos are generally around 3 mins - so not to long.
In the end I found an approach that worked for me. It's still more time consuming than I'd like but it ensures accuracy with the captions. In short, I currently do the following:
- upload my videos to Youtube
- Youtube creates automatic captions
- I copy and paste this captions into a note pad and clean them up by putting punctuation in etc
- I then paste them back into Youtube but use the Autosync option for captions
- When done, I download as a VTT file
- I then upload to Rise
This isn't my ideal approach as it's more time consuming than I wanted, but I am happy with the quality of the output it gives, for that little extra work. When I want to pay (or should I say when my company wants to pay), to save my time, I know there are other options available for me, so I'm happy with that.
