Hi! I have run into a problem with keyboard accessibility on the 360 images. Using NVDA screen reader. When the slide first loads, the hotspots and markers are able to be accessed by keyboard (good) but if I click on a hotspot or marker to show a layer, once the layer is closed, I can't tab to any of the hotspots or markers again. The arrow keys still work to move the image and I can access the button that is on top of the image. Is there something I'm missing? I will often add MP4 videos from the Articulate library in my modules for very short periods of time - 5 to 10 seconds usually, as I like a lot of movement and visual interest. They are just enhancements, decorative, really, like a video of steaming 0s and 1s when I'm talking about data.. Or if I'm talking about analytics, an MP4 of moving bars and charts that I shrink down to fit within a monitor illustration. Is this practice accessible? I do have them autoplay and haven't been adding start/stop/play buttons, as they are only very briefly on screen. These modules are for a government client and 508 compliance is required. Do I need to add a tiny stop button to say, that shrunken down 'analytics' MP4 playing in the monitor for 6 seconds?14Views0likes2CommentsNVDA and RISE move from TOC to topic and...
Hi there, I am learning it is challenging to test using NVDA when you don't have the special keyboard or you are really unfamiliar with its use. For the most part I seem to be able to bounce around, and noticed when my mouse hovers over a section it starts talking (i don't recall this before), What I am struggling with is the initial start. I launch the course listen to the intro, press start, tab down to my first topic lesson objectives, I thought I would right arrow over to the content and then work through, but I can't seem to get over there, if I hover my mouse over there then select the down arrow it seems to move me through. Any tips. Also moving from a storyline block to a timeline block and getting the timeline block to start with the text and not the zoom in on image... Tips would be great, I have googled lots but nothing that has helped me. Thanks T P.S. found the edit button (cog wheel far right, not close enough to my article LOL!14Views0likes1CommentHeading 2 Text Style Not Applied Consistently
I have a course with several slides in which each slide has a slide title. I have diligently applied the Heading 2 style to each slide title. All are meant to be read by a JAWS screen reader. But--very frustrating--the screen reader isn't announcing "Heading Level 2" before the alt text. I've tried: Reapplying the H2 style Creating a custom H2 style Copying/pasting a H2 slide title from another slide that is working Duplicating the entire slide and inserting into a new scene to reset it Opening a blank project file and importing my entire course into it Nothing has worked. What does the staff recommend? One of the slides is attached.11Views0likes1CommentLinks in the Module Don't Appear to Be Keyboard Accessible
Hi everyone, I’m encountering an issue where the links on some slides aren’t keyboard accessible—neither the Enter nor Space key seem to activate them. I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do on my end to resolve this? Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!6Views0likes1CommentAccessibility settings for grouped items
This may have already been discussed, if so forgive me. Many tools I use, if I group a set of items together and apply accessibility settings to the group, any child elements that are grouped will either be invisible or will inherit the settings given to the parent at the group level. For example, if I group a set of shapes, then mark the group as "decorative", none of the items within the grouping will appear in any kind of reading order. They essentially inherit the "decorative" setting applied to the parent group. This is not the case in Articulate Storyline, and as a result I often end up with a lot of additional clicks. Is there any conversation about changing this behavior?17Views0likes5CommentsCustom certificate in Rise 360 course exported to Reach 360?
Can you edit the default certificate that gets created when someone completes a Reach 360 course? The design is pretty basic, and the PDF that gets generated isn't accessible (no accessibility tags). It would be perfect if we had the option to create and edit a custom HTML certificate instead, possibly even on a per course basis.36Views0likes6CommentsAccordion Video Playback Behaviour
Hi all I'm encountering an issue with the way playback of videos is handled by the accordion block in Rise 360 and wondering if anyone else has encountered this. The issue: Video playback in an accordion tab continues when another tab in the stack is expanded with the behaviour set to "Open only one item at a time". Steps to replicate the issue: Accordion block has been inserted with at least 2 tabs in the stack. A video has been inserted onto one of the tabs. The accordion behaviour is set to "Open only one item at a time". The tab containing the video is opened and the learner plays the video. The learner expands another tab in the accordion stack. The tab with the video collapses, but the videocontinues to play. The video does pause when: Learner navigates back to the video tab. Learner closes the tab containing the video before opening another. Ideally what needs to happen is the video willpause when another tab is expanded/openedwith the accordion's behaviour set to "Open only one item at a time". Is this possible? Many thanks, Sam17Views0likes1Comment
