Where 64-bit application?
Don't know why there is still only a 32-bit application available. What is this August 2001? Here we are 18 years later and with 64-bit multi-core processors. I don't even think that this application utilizes all cores on even a Ryzen 7 (have not tried it - that is my gaming computer).
Where is the 64-bit app -- in "development Hell"???
Hi Everyone!
Great news! I'm happy to share that we just released Storyline 360 (version 3.82.31354.0), which includes a new 64-bit version of Storyline 360! Harness the processing power in modern computers with 64-bit Storyline 360. Large, media-rich courses benefit from increased stability and faster performance!
To use 64-bit Storyline 360, please update your Articulate 360 desktop app, then click the Install button next to the Storyline 360 app with the 64-bit and beta labels. The Install button will change to an Open button when the installation is complete.
This was highly requested, so we hope it serves you in your course creation! If you run into any snags, don't hesitate to contact our team in a support case.

To add to Adam's comment. At least the Storyline 360 (MS Windows) should be in 64 bit (if the entire bundle cannot be converted).
This should be a priority compared to adding more features.

Please modernize Storyline and add support for the following:
- 64-bit version
- multi-core processor and multi-threading support
- usage of more than 4 gb RAM
There have been community posts and feature requests for over 8 years for this. We have gotten new features over that time, but the software still works slow, crashes, and has all kinds of resource issues. This needs to be made a priority.

Adding my comment to this thread... feeling like I just got burned with a new Ryzen 7 3700x with 32GB RAM and a high performance M.2 SSD.... and much more... only to see Storyline appear as 32-bit process in the Task manager.
I'm currently struggling working with a project that has 24 scenes of screen recordings and the application is extremely slow. Publishing takes eons to complete and only utilizes 7% of my CPU at best.
Storyline is becoming too armature as a tool for me. Unless 64-bit ... or at least work on a 64-bit version begins I will be forced to look at alternative solutions to Storyline. Unfortunately I don't have time to troubleshoot performance issues with Articulates support team - this isn't my problem to help you fix!
Please, include a 64-bit version. I think the future of this product will rely on the performance benchmarks you need to achieve for a product in 2021 and beyond! Especially as the eLearning industry is currently experiencing explosive growth.
Truly frustrated.
Good luck.

Dear all, I got the impression the 64-bit version is not going to be in the pipeline at all since it is most likely NOT categorized as a critical feature. Reading from the staff responses (and lack of responses) so far, it seems the need-analysis was not done, or probably just done in the business/financial perspective. Bottom line 64-bit is not going to add more revenue to the company. So the resources are distributed to the other features such as Rise, other new modules, etc which will attract more subscribers.

I wonder if it’s even in development? If the next version of Windows cuts off 32 bit apps like macOS did, that’s a huge problem.

As for now, it looks like windows 11 will still support 32-bit apps, even though windows itself will be 64-bit only.

(Thanks, Niall! :)).

Yeah, Tom, I totally agree. The only positive thing I heard was from support person a while back, that said that the publishing process is actually 64 bit. But still, as you stated, it only utilized 7 % of your CPU ... imagine if the next version of Windows dropped support for 32 bit apps ... it would be a sh..show.

Seeing this thread is discouraging. I agree with all the frustration expressed here; our team is dealing with it too.
Time to start looking at Adobe Captivate... no surprise they have both 32 bit and 64 bit versions.
