More RESUME options would be great!
Hi Articulate and heroes,
I'm working on a simulation and I want to add a bit of gamification.
It would be nice if we had some more RESUME options.
This simulation is extensive and when the user has to stop for whatever reason and they want to continue again later on, they might not really remember where they exactly left off.
Therefore, I wanted to create some save points, just like in a game.
When they resume they need to start the simulation from the beginning (welcome and introduction screen), then they need to see an overview of some save points that they already reached or not. The save points will have clear names/images, so the user will know what they already did and what not, and from where they can resume. Those save points will be clickable.
It would help if Storyline has the following abilities:
- A trigger for manually setting a resume point instead of automatically on every slide.
- A built-in variable that allows us to detect when a project has been resumed and let us do stuff with that. (Not only resume from where the user left off)
- An extra Resume option where we can set a certain slide where the user should resume from. (Not only resume from where the user left off)
- A built-in variable that tells us on which slide the user left off (what the progress was).
I dont know if this will be possible, I'm thinking outloud here, but some more RESUME options instead of only resuming from where the user left off would be great.
If anyone from the community has a good solution for this, please tell me!

Hi Paul I love the idea about the variable for resume would help so much.
Hello Paul,
Thanks for taking the time to detail the features that you'd like to be included in future releases of Storyline 360.
I’ll be happy to pass your thoughts on to our product team, but you can also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!

Thanks Joe!
Can you tell me where the progress information is being stored?
Maybe I can do something with javascript.

I now created the Savepoints by using the browser's Local Storage.
I made a recording in which I explain and also show what I mean exactly.
Please have a look Articulate!
