Looking for feedback
Hello there, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have layers that work fine, but when all layers have been clicked and open, they should move as though they are being closed, but I don't know how to do that. Right now, there's just a animation fly-in from the right. When all layers are clicked in order the fly in looks sufficient. But, once they are all open, to close them they should appear to close from a different direction. Any feedback, comments or tips to make this more realistic would be appreciated. I attached a quick video to show.

So, using the fly-in animation will always bring in the object from off the edge of the screen to the final position. It won't reverse and take it back out the way it came. To do what you want, you would need to change from animations to motion paths, which would allow you to move in and out from exactly where you want. It would require in and out paths for each movable layer. Based on your design, I would suggest placing a background-colored mask to the right of your sliding panels, below your 'Iris' buttons. You can then move panels left and right below that, allowing them to extend off of the edge of the slide. These are then moved back and forth with motion paths. I would create each tab, panel, and the panel contents, and then group all of that as a single unit for movement. One group for each panel unit.
The hardest part is moving the right combination of panels at the right times. You will need several groups of triggers.
I made a basic mock-up of this idea for you to look at. It gives you an idea of how your design could be modified (or rebuilt from scratch, as that maybe easier).
