Gifs flickering in project
Hi all,
I create a bingo game in Storyline 360. Users "roll" by clicking a button which triggers a GIF animation of the roll. It was decided that the first few seconds of each GIF need to be cut, and since I was having some issues editing the GIFs themselves I decided to cover the first seconds in the timeline with a black rectangle.
However, when I publish the project (360 and LMS) the GIFs flicker occasionally like the rectangle isn't covering them right. Everything looks fine in preview, but the published project sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, and I couldn't find a rhyme or reason to this.
I'd appreciate any help or insight! The project file is attached.
Thank you,
Bar
Hi Bar,
Thanks for reaching out!
On my end, I can see no flickering when rolling the dice feature in your course.
I'd like to ask a few questions to help clarify your experience:
- Can I ask which browser and version are you using so I can try to replicate the behavior using more similar circumstances?
- Which version of Storyline 360 do you have installed?
Looking forward to your response!

Hi Joe,
Thanks for taking the time to help!
I'm using Chrome version 103.0.5060.134. Storyline 360 is updated to the latest version.
Thank you,
Bar
Hi Bar,
It looks like you may have an older version of Google Chrome installed. The latest version of the browser is Version 104.0.5112.101 (Official Build) (x86_64). Can you try updating your Google Chrome to the latest installation to see if this helps?
If the issue persists, try the following:
- Test your course on a different browser
- Temporarily disable any active browser extensions that you have installed
Finally, you can also reach out to our support team by opening a case so we can take a closer look at the behavior if none of the suggested troubleshooting steps help.
Let me know how it goes!
