Delay showing content until self-assessment is done

Hi there

I am building a small course in Articulate Storyline with only 3 x units and was hoping to be able to show a resource item in the top right corner only after the 3 x units and self-assessments have been done.

Is this possible please, and if so, how?

Many thanks

Jules :)

  • Hi Julie, you can put the resource item on the master slide and use variables to verify if all of them are done.

Hi Julie. I don't have time to do full tutorial, so here's an info dump, hope it helps :)

    1. Create 3 new text variables for each unit and set them all to 'false' by default
    2. Add a trigger at the end of each unit to set the relevant variable to 'True' when the timeline on that last unit slide starts (i.e. when the user reaches the end of a unit, the variable for that unit will enable, confirming that they've completed the unit)
    3. Once you've done that, go into your slide masters, create a new slide, call it something relevant and add a layer to that slide
    4. On the new layer, create your resource item
    5. Go back to the slide and create a trigger that shows the new layer when the timeline starts, but only when the 3 new text variables are set to 'True'
    6. Once that's done, come out of the master slides and set every slide that you want the resource to appear on to the layout of that new slide you've just created

Hope that makes sense. There are resources on this site that tells you how to create variables, amend master slides and set page layouts, so that should help you too.
