copy paste from 4:3 to 16:9 = huge mess
It's an issue that's been there since... a very long time, when the user copies content (multiple or not, but it's even more visible when selecting multiple objects at once) from one storyline (with a specific ratio) and then pastes the content into another storyline (with another ratio) the positioning and scaling of the whole pasted content is completely messed up.
Is that possible that, in a future update, copy-pastes would function as they are supposed to? (copy, then...paste :D If we want to rearrange our compositions we can do it on our own)
Sometimes updates can be required to old modules, in order to adapt from the 4/3 old screens to the more modern 16/9 (or even wider) screens. And sometimes the only thing to do would be to copy-paste the old content into the new ratioed module, center it vertically, and then manually rescale a few objects in the background to make it possible in a very little amount of time. Here if we try to do this (whether change the ratio within the existing module, OR copy-pasting content) everything is so messed up that the only viable solution is to manually redo / reintegrate EVERYTHING from scratch.
PLEASE give us a solution, dear Team :)
Hello PhilippeDelv399,
Thanks for reaching out and for sharing this feedback about your experience with copy-and-pasting objects in Storyline 360.
One workaround you can do is to use Storyline 360's Import slide feature to bring content into your project. Doing this allows the objects to retain their positions relative to each other even when transferred to a slide with a different size. Here's what content from a 4:3 slide looks like when transferred to a 16:9 slide.
4:3
16:9
Hope this helps!
