Change Shape of Continue Button on Feedback Master

Is there a way to change the chape of the continue button on the Feedback Master?

I want a pill shape instead of a rectangle.

You can change it in the feedback master to apply a new style to all Continue buttons in feedback layers or change it right in the feedback layer.

I didn't scroll down far enough to see the pill shapes!

For some reason, when I apply it, it's not completely round.

  • Hi, Michelle!

I'm glad you were able to locate the pill shape! You mentioned it's not completely round when applied. I've created a button to test this out. Does yours look the same? If not, could you try deleting that button and creating a new one?

    Your image isn't showing.

Also, I was under the impression that deleting Continue buttons from the feedback master causes issues.

      Hi Michelle!

      Happy to jump in here!

The image Kelly shared is showing up for me without issues. I made a quick screen recording for your reference.

Also, if you're hesitant about deleting the continue button from Master Slides, my teammate Alyssa shared a workaround here that you may find helpful.

Please let me know if you have any more questions!

Kelly: No, my button isn't completely round when I select the pill shape. It looks like this:

Steven: If you move the continue button off the slide and add a custom button on the slide, that new button doesn't have any associated triggers, and the old one does.

In fact, you can't add triggers to the custom button in slide view because you can't select it. So, it doesn't seem functional.

      Hi Michelle!

      Thanks for sharing the feedback!

Another workaround you may want to explore would be using a custom shape, and then adding your own states to it on the Master Slide. Testing this on my end, I was able to click and drag the corner points into a rounder, pill shape.

This article goes into more detail on working with shapes and states in Storyline!

Please let me know if you have any more questions!

    Hi Steven,

I tried that, but when I closed the master view, my button had no triggers. Since it's on the master, I don't think I can add the required "Go to next slide" trigger that I would need on a continue button on a feedback layer.

  • Hi Michelle!

Is it possible for you to share your .story file with us? I'd like to take a closer look at your setup!

Feel free to upload to this thread or privately in a support case.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

      Hello Michelle,

Thanks for sharing a copy of your project file. I made this quick recording to show you how to:

      • Change the shape of the "Continue" button on the correct and incorrect feedback layers
      • Assign triggers to the "Continue" button in the feedback master view

Let me know if you have any questions or clarifications!
