Base Layers and Slide Layers

I have a base layer with 4 slide layers.

I want the user to be able to click between each of the layers. However, when they return to base layer, and then click on any of the slide layers, the timeline starts again on the slide layers.

I have tried "resume timeline" on slide layers when user clicks slide 2/3/4/5 - but this does not work. It only happens when I move from base layer to slide layers. Can someone help with this?
