An error occurred with the text entry question slides

Hi everybody,

After updating Storyline, the question slides with text entries in my projects all had problems.

The problem here is that after typing the answer, then clicking the submit button, the feedback layer will appear, but not interacting with the layers that appear. The focus is still on the text entry (you can see the attached image, when the thank you layer appears, but I can still select the entered text, but I can't change it), I can't click the continue button either , like the text entry is on top of the layer just shown. I have tried many ways, many types of questions are not working, only way is to remove the feedback layer.

The problem was with all the slides I worked on, before that those projects were working fine, no problems.

Does anyone have an idea or a workaround, please let me know. Thank you!

  • Hello Everyone! ✨

I'm happy to share that we have released a new update for Storyline 360 (Build 3.77.30568.0).

In this update, we have implemented a fix for:

    • Learners couldn't continue after submitting essay questions.

As a first stepI recommend updating Storyline 360 to the latest version. Here's how:

    Update Authoring Apps

If you have any questions, please let us know in this thread or privately in a support case.

    Have a great day!

  • you mean this error?

this is a new error of the submit button in SL 3.75 (ok in SL 3.74)

downgrade to 3.74 and open a support case

@articulate: also the trigger "on user click" -> "Show layer 'Thank You' " don't work

      Hello Jürgen,

I did a few tests on my end using Survey question slides, and the Show Layer on User Click action on the 'Thank You' feedback layer worked properly for me using the latest update of Storyline 360. I've attached a sample project file for your reference. I may be doing something differently which is why we are not getting the same results. Would you mind providing us with steps to replicate the behavior so we can take a closer look?

  • Hi M C,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I can confirm that this bug was introduced in Update that 75 of Storyline 360, and I've already created a report to make our product team aware of this behavior.

The current workaround is to downgrade to Storyline 360 Update 74 or make sure that your Essay slides have titles assigned to them. I'll let you know when I have any updates to share, and we're sorry for any inconvenience this bug may have caused.
