Active Text Entry Cursor upon Timeline Start
Hi Friends!
This morning I was developing slides where I had my students click on a hotspot, which simply jumped to the next slide that contained my Text Entry box. For about 2 hours this morning, any time I would get to the particular slide with the Text Entry box, the cursor was already activated and "blinking". Then halfway through my day, I went to preview the project, and text entry box was dead, forcing me to "click twice" into the same location in order to activate the cursor. Does anyone know why the cursor in a text entry box may or may not be active when the timeline starts?

Hi, AndreaKoehntop . We are experiencing the same issue Sarah had a few years ago but I cannot find an answer posted from John Carlo. Would you be able to point us in the right direction please?

I tried this on my project, but it didn't work for me. Even with the text entry at the bottom of the timeline, the cursor isn't automatically popping into the text field when the slide starts.

You can also add as the bottom item on a layer as well if the design does not allow on the base layer

Hi, Andrew, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ✨
Thank you for reaching out!
The cursor will be active when the slide starts if it's the lowest item on the timeline:
If your design allows, and it's not currently set up that way, can you move it, so it's on the bottom of the timeline?
Let me know if this works!
