6 TopicsQuiz submitting 10 points to Moodle for every 1 point scored
Hi My Quiz is submitting 10 points to moodle for every 1 point the user scores. So if the student receives 5/10 in the quiz, 50 points are synced to the LMS instead of 5. Each quiz question is worth only 1 point in storyline. I cannot find a reason for this happening?44Views0likes3CommentsLearners Getting Stuck Randomly in Courses
Issue: SCORM 2004 v 3 & 4 courses getting stuck on random slides within an online course in our PeopleSoft LMS: next and submit buttons don't work. Strangely, some learners successfully complete the course the first time through; others have to retry multiple times (and progress is NEVER saved when this issue occurs); still others never successfully get through. When/Where: randomly at any time, for any learner, in any browser, in any course (Rise and Storyline) in our LMS (PeopleSoft). Can it be replicated? Yes. Though the issue occurs randomly, I can replicate the exact same issue every time when I manually disconnect my network cable, then reconnect. There's no indication that my connection dropped, but upon reconnect, the course is 'stuck'. The only way to exit it at that point is to close the window or use the browser's back button is the only option to get out--and doing so does NOT save progress, even if progress had been saved previously. What we've tried: clearing cache; multiple browsers; changing player settings (launch in new window and/or using the connectivity alert). Previous research informed us if we use SCORM 2004, our LMS requires either V3 or V4 and the Passed/Failed or Passed/Incomplete options, so we did not re-test those settings. Testing: one of the courses was tested in SCORMCloud and Reach 360 successfully--it never got permanently stuck in either LMS upon disconnect/reconnect. Also tested a sample SCORM 2004 V3 course from another vendor in our PeopleSoft LMS--that course was successful, never getting permanently stuck in the course. Question: is there a setting I'm missing? Do we need to alter our js files? I'm planning to compare the published output from the sample SCORM course from the other vendor to our published output files, but there are a LOT of files to look at. Does anyone have tips on what files to focus on? js? xsd? xml? Or ideas on what else to check?53Views1like4CommentsData listed in cmi.interactions.x.id
We're using Docebo to deploy a course built in Storyline. During a test, I pulled the interaction data for some of our questions. The cmi.interactions.25.id, for example, lists the correct scene/slide, but that doesn't tell an independent reviewer which question someone answered. I know that cmi.interactions.x.description lists the question stem, but our course has a pre-test and knowledge checks that reuse the question stem and answers. So, the stem would display twice for different interactions (as expected) . Is there a way to update cmi.interactions.x.id within Storyline? I'd love to have the pre-test version and knowledge check version more clearly delineated. Here's the data I have for one interaction: cmi.interactions.24.objectives.0.success_status: unknown cmi.interactions.24.objectives.0.completion_status: unknown cmi.interactions.24.objectives.0.id: Course Name cmi.interactions.24.timestamp: 2024-09-10T11:00:13.0-04> cmi.interactions.25.id: Scene18_Slide10_MultiResponse_0_0 cmi.interactions.25.type: choice44Views0likes2CommentsLaunching another SCORM module from a completed SCORM module?
Hi there, I don't know if my title is quite right, but what I'm asking is, if there is a way to automatically go to the next scorm module after the user completes the first one. We have 4 SCORM modules, but they are all part of one course. We are using a Moodle LMS. So, instead of the user completing and then closing the module to return to the main course screen to select the next module, we would like to see if when they complete the module, it will just go to the next module automatically. I hope that makes sense! Looking forward to hearing from anyone who knows! Thanks!48Views0likes2CommentsStoryline 360- Complete Course Trigger
We are building our Captivate Classic files in Storyline 360, and our unique-but-not-overly-complicated Quiz setup is causing some confusion due to the differences in Storyline's Quiz scoring options being different from Captivate. I'll take the issue chronologically in the attached project file, which is an in-progress .story file that will serve as our template for these builds: Throughout the Chapter we have "Knowledge Check questions", which I put in quotes because in order to include them in the SCORM Interaction Data being sent to our LMS, they had to be created as "Graded Question" slides with a correct answer point value of 0. Examples are 1.4 KC_01 and 1.6 KC_02. For our Quiz (Scene 2), we have 10 unique questions, but 20 slides, since Storyline does not offer a "Penalty" or "Point Reduction" for getting a question wrong the first time (New Feature Request already submitted). If the student gets 2.2 Q1 correct on the first attempt, it's worth 10 points and they're jumped to 2.6 Q2. If the student gets 2.2 Q1 wrong on the first attempt, they're jumped to an identical version of the question on a separate slide (2.3 Q1_Redo), and the correct answer on that slide is worth 5 points. For clarity, we're not toggling on theOnly score viewed questionssetting. In our Captivate files, the minimum passing score is 80 points. But Storyline only offers aPassing Scoreparameter (Quiz Results slide > Quiz Settings) in a percentage format. I didn't think this would be a problem, as 80/150 = ~54%. But having to check off the boxes to include 1.4 KC_01 and1.6 KC_02 in the Quiz Results slide > Quiz Settings window got me thinking that my previewing of the file would not indicate completion status, so I reached out to Articulate Support. I cannot seem to get a straightforward answer to the following question: Is thePassing Score percentage calculated as a percentage of the total available points for all Graded Question slides? Or, since a percentage implies that there's no weighting to the Graded Question slides via points, is the Passing Scorepercentage calculated simply as a percentage of all of the Graded Question slides? This confusion is rooted in the fact that Storyline allows us to assign a number of points to a correct answer, and then does not allow us to base the Passing Score off of a set number of points, which is pretty odd. If the answer is the latter, we don't have any interest in calculating this percentage for each of our hundreds of individual Chapters with varying numbers of "Knowledge Check questions," and I'd likely set up a Variable to track the points scored on the Quiz and use theComplete Course Trigger at the end of the project. However, I can't seem to get Articulate Support to confirm two aspects of this change, should it be necessary: That the SCORM Interaction Data would be sent to our LMS if that Trigger was used by a button on one of the slides after the Quiz Results Slide, as it seems if we don't base the positive completion status off the built-in Quiz score, it's not clear that the SCORM Interaction Data will be sent; How the positive completion status is sent to our LMS when we use the Complete Course Trigger (Ie. in the SCORM Interaction Data, or some other way we're currently unfamiliar with). This is important after reading through the bulk of Storyline users asking for help when their LMS doesn't recognize the positive completion status when sent using thatTrigger. Any guidance or ideas is much appreciated from a new-to-Storyline company. Thank you in advance for your time!122Views0likes2CommentsPosted SCORM file was null or empty in ComplianceWire
Hi Folks! Our organization uses ComplianceWire LMS, and we are experiencing a new issue uploading files from Articulate Rise 360. Generally, we would export the Rise files to SCORM 1.2 and upload to the LMS with no issue. However, now, several individuals in our organization have tried uploading SCORM files to the LMS and we keep getting a "posted file was null or empty" error. We've double-checked the files and they aren't empty- there doesn't appear to be anything unusual with the files. Has anyone else experienced this issue with Rise SCORM files not being recognized or able to upload to an LMS? If so, how do we fix it. We've also opened up a ticket with our LMS vendor to investigate the issue, but we would appreciate any advice you may have. Below is a picture of the error we are receiving.29Views0likes1Comment
