By default, all slides will be imported unless you choose otherwise. You can tell which slides are selected by their blue outline. To select or deselect a slide, just click it. The blue outline will either appear or disappear to indicate its status. You can also click Select All or None in the upper right corner to quickly select or deselect all slides at once. Use the Insert into scene drop-down at the bottom of the window to choose where the quiz slides should appear in your course. You can insert them into a new scene, which is the default option, or you can choose an existing scene. If you choose a new scene, use the Scene field to give it a name. Question groups that aren't randomized in Quizmaker will be imported into Storyline as individual slides in the selected scene. Editing Questions After importing a quiz into Storyline, you can edit questions like any other slide. You can also use the Form View and Slide View buttons in the Question panel on the right side of the screen to toggle between both editing workspaces. To learn more about the question editor, including scoring, number of attempts, feedback, and branching, see this user guide. Working with Feedback Layers Storyline uses feedback layers to display feedback for each question. There are various types of feedback you can give learners, including Correct, Incorrect, Try Again, Review, and Thank You. Storyline will automatically generate some feedback layers for you, but you can add more. To add, edit, or delete feedback layers, go to the question slide you want to modify, then use the Slide Layers panel in the lower right corner of the screen. Working with Result Slides When you import a quiz into Storyline, the result slide from the quiz will automatically be imported as well, and the imported questions will be associated with that result slide by default. However, Storyline supports multiple result slides in the same project, so you can change the result slide that tracks each question if you’d prefer to break the original quiz into multiple assessments in Storyline. Learn more about result slides here.14Views0likes0CommentsQuizmaker 360: Replacing Fonts

Quizmaker 360 lets you organize quiz slides into one or question groups, and you can even randomize the questions so learners see a different sequence or subset of questions each time. Watch this video demonstration, then follow the activities below to practice. Practice Activities: Create a New Question Group Organize Questions into Groups Randomize Questions in Each Group Lock Individual Questions in Place Practice Activity: Create a New Question Group Each Quizmaker quiz has one question group by default, but you can add as many as you like. Let’s practice adding new groups. Open PracticeGroups.quiz from your practice files. Two question groups have already been created for you. You can expand and collapse question groups so you can focus on certain portions of your quiz. Collapse the two existing groups by clicking the minus sign to the left of each group name. Tip: Collapsing groups in the question list doesn’t affect your published quiz. Now let’s add a new group to the quiz. Go to the Home tab on the ribbon and click Question Group. A new question group will appear at the end of the question list. Click the name of the new group to open it for editing. Type Nervous System and click Enter on your keyboard to save the new name. Practice Activity: Organize Questions into Groups You can create brand new question slides for the new question group you just created, and you can drag existing questions from other groups and drop them into the new group. For this activity, just drag slide 10 down to the new question group you created so the group isn’t empty. Practice Activity: Randomize Questions in Each Group You can randomize questions in each group, and you can even pull a random subset of questions for each quiz attempt. Let’s do both. Select the first group in your quiz by clicking its title bar. Go to the Home tab on the ribbon and click Randomize Group. Notice that “Randomize all questions” appears beside the group name.We could stop here, but let’s limit each quiz attempt to a subset of questions from the group. Use the Include drop-down list on the ribbon to choose how many questions you want to randomly display to learners from this group. Let’s choose five questions for this tutorial. Notice that “Randomize, include 5 questions” appears beside the group name. Practice Activity: Lock Individual Questions in Place There may be times when you need to randomize some questions in a group but prevent others from being shuffled. Quizmaker can help with that, too. Just lock a question in place. You can lock a question to the top of a group, the bottom of a group, or another question in the same group. Select the first question in your quiz, then go to the Home tab on the ribbon, click Lock Question, and choose To Top of Group. Notice that a chain icon appears to lock the first question to the group title bar. Now let’s lock slide 3 to the bottom of the group. Select the slide, go to the Home tab, click Lock Question, and choose To Bottom of Group. Notice that the question moves to the bottom of the group. And let’s say the first couple questions always need to appear together in every quiz attempt. No problem. Right-click slide 2, scroll to Lock Question, and choose To Question Above. Summary In this tutorial, you learned how to organize and randomize slides in question groups. In the next tutorial, we’ll customize the player that appears around the perimeter of your quiz.37Views0likes0CommentsQuizmaker 360: Building Freeform Quiz Questions
Quizmaker 360 makes it easy to create interactive freeform quiz questions—no coding required. They’re not only fun for learners, they’re fun to build, too! In this tutorial, we’ll rebuild the multiple-choice question we previously created as a freeform pick-one question using engaging characters from the Content Library 360 rather than standard radio buttons. Watch this video demonstration, then follow the activities below to practice. Practice Activities: Insert a Freeform Pick-One Question Add Content to the Slide Identify Drag Items and Drop Targets Practice Activity: Insert a Freeform Pick-One Question Open PracticeQuiz.quiz from your practice files. In Question List View, go to the Home tab on the ribbon and click Freeform Question. When the slide browser opens, select the Pick One template and click Insert Question. Your new slide will open in Slide View where you can add content. Practice Activity: Add Content to the Slide Add a text box to the top right portion of the slide and type FINANCE TRAINING in the box. Format the text box as you'd like. This is the title of the slide. Add another text box just below the first one and type Who processes your expense reports? Format it as you'd like. This is the question text. Add three more text boxes to the bottom of the slide, evenly spaced, and format them as you'd like. Enter these labels in the boxes: VP, Finance Human Resources Accounts Payable Now let’s add characters from the Content Library 360 that will function as our clickable answer choices. Go to the Insert tab on the ribbon and click Character. Choose an Illustrated—Realistic character and click Insert. Crop the character to the torso, then position it over the VP, Finance label. Insert, crop, and position two more characters over the other two labels. It's always a good idea to rename your slide objects with easily recognizable names. This is especially helpful when you're creating freeform questions as you'll see in the next section. Double-click each character in the timeline, type a new name, then press Enter on your keyboard. Practice Activity: Identify the Interactive Answer Choices Lastly, we need to identify which items on the slide are clickable answer choices. In this example, the three illustrated characters function as our answer choices. Click the Form View button in the Question panel. Click the first row in the Choice column and select the VP Finance character. Click the second row in the Choice column and select the Human Resources character. Click the third row in the Choice column and select the Accounts Payable character. Then mark the radio button in the Correct column for the Accounts Payable character to identify it as the correct response. Finally, go to the Home tab on the ribbon, click the Selected State drop-down arrow, and choose an orange glow so the selected character will be noticeable to the learner. Click Preview on the ribbon to see how your interactive question looks and behaves.
