Using AI Assistant to Unleash Your Creativity #477: Challenge | Recap

This week, your challenge is to create a short demo or interaction using AI Assistant. You can use Rise or Storyline (or both!), and itā€™s totally fine if youā€™re still using the trial version. 

If youā€™re short on time and youā€™ve already participated in one of our previous AI challenges, feel free to rework that project with AI Assistant.

One more thing: When you share your project, please include a quick line about how you used AI Assistant. Also, if you used a custom image prompt, consider sharing the prompt with your demo

One of my favorite things about AI Assistant is the image generation feature. You can use the built-in prompts to create great images and graphics or create a custom prompt to generate the style youā€™re after.

    Time flies! Seven months ago in ELC #452 I explored how AI Image generators would handle recreating some famous works of art. I revisited this idea here and added in the new Articulate AI image generator. I think the humans still win. :) 

    I really like the way the Articulate AI image generator gives you four options and it's easy to use. My favorite new feature is the Notes to Speech with captions! What a time saver! I used captions in this project but I didn't really need them (you can activate them in the layers that show you what prompt generated the images). I also used the sound effects generator for my feedback reinforcement. I like having four options to choose, but I need more practice in providing direction and describing the sound I want.

      Hello! I loved your creation. Can I ask how you utilized voting buttons? I'm not seeing that as an option on my software and think it would be incredibly useful for feedback surveys!

    Here's a simple demo I built when we were testing things internally. 

    • For content, I used AI and only started with a single title and built all the content from that. Although the content isn't very complex because I wasn't building a real course.
    • All of the graphics including the buttons and slider graphics were created with AI.
    • One of my goals with this practice file was to use AI to create a consistent visual design.
    • I added a little icon to explain how I created certain parts of the course and edited some of the graphics.

    Hello!

    I've been experimenting with the new AI voices, image and sound generation features. I've been particularly impressed with the sound effects that you can now create within Storyline, as you'll hear in this demo.

    This is a Freeform Question slide with a twist.  I've also included a video showing some of the workflow to create this.

      I learned some new things, like the rings orbit at different rates around the planet. I didn't realize the rings could be separated out and actually have different names.

      Couple of notes:

      - Yep, I know you can create square  images with the AI, but for this I generated some widescreen images and cropped them, as I wanted an 'offset' image.

      - Yep, if you watch the video closely, I ask the AI to generate an image of Saturn with an incorrect number of rings. I checked with NASA afterwards, and the correct number of rings is as stated in the demo. So it was me who hallucinated, not the AI šŸ˜€

      - Everything except the portal and shimmering effect were created in slide and/or using the AI assistant.

      - There's currently a bug with built-in layers in questions slides that means I can't make the 'Discover More' button on the base layer clickable from the Correct or Try again layer.  See here for more info.

    For this challenge, I am sharing a simple raffle game I created for the upcoming DevLearn conference.  Since there is a keynote speaker who is a graffiti artist, I wanted to build on that theme with graphics and sound for this game.  My current resources did not have what I needed, so I used the AI assistant.  I asked the AI assistant to provide a brick graffiti wall with open space in the middle, but containing the words DevLearn and Yukon.  I saved all of the promising options in Media Library and continued to regenerate until I came up with a variety of options I could compare.     Hello Heroes,

    For Mental Health Month I created an interaction on Neurodiversity.  Storyline AI was used in the following ways.

    • Text content for introduction
    • Creating 5 images with the same look and feel for the interaction
    • Scenarios for each of the 5 characters
    • Text to speech with captioning
    • A question for understanding for each character slide

    I welcome your comments and suggestions.

    I enjoy the new support from the AI.  I wish their was more diversity in the voices offered but I imagine that is coming.

    Hi everyone! I'm excited to share my experience testing a new AI ā€” it's absolutely amazing. I generated several images using the prompt "in the style of Miyazaki," and here's what came out! I found the music, but I created the sound effects with AI. For example, I was able to make a crowd say the phrase "Prost" by simply typing "The crowd says Prost." It's an impressive tool that really speeds up the course creation process!

    I was inspired by autumn and Oktoberfest.

    I spent the weekend diving into Articulate features, and after a late-night creative session, Iā€™m excited to share my entry for the latest challenge!

    I used the Articulate AI Assistant to:

    1. Script Generation: Created the content for my slides quickly and easily.
    2. Image Creation: Every image, button, and icon in the course was generated using the AI feature. I had fun exploring different button styles to see what worked best!
    3. Voiceovers: All the voiceovers were done using the text-to-speech tool. I especially loved using the "Freya" voiceā€”it added the perfect touch for my cat-themed project.
    4. Quiz Questions: The AI also helped me generate quiz questions and feedback. Although I had a bit of a challenge getting more than two questions.
    5. Sound Effects: I used the sound effects feature for both correct and incorrect quiz responses, and it really enhanced the interaction.
    6. Summary Generation: Wrapped things up by using the "generate summary" feature to polish the content.

    Overall, it was a fun experiment, and now that Iā€™ve had a taste, I canā€™t wait to apply these features to real-world projects!

    Quick note: I want to make sure I'm using your correct name in the recap posts. With the new community, some names got changed. With the new community, some profile names got changed, and it's been a challenge when I'm pulling together the recaps. 
    If you haven't updated your profile name yet, no worries.

    You don't have to change your profile, but when you post your challenge example, just let me know if there's a specific name you'd prefer me to use in the recaps, and I'll update my Google Docs template.

      Hi David,

      Just a note. I really liked your tip in the video on how to create a custom visual prompt that gives your visuals more consistency across renderings. I'm going to practice with that. I spend so much time building a visual library for projects!

        Thanks, Jodi. Your comment made me realize that it might be helpful to ask others to share their custom image prompts along with their demos. Thereā€™s so much nuance to all of this. I'll update the post.

    Think I just discovered what happens to AI generated images and sounds when your trial ends. Unless you save the final version to the Media Library, it looks like the assets disappear. 

    I've just lost access to a couple of sound effects that I forgot to add to the Media Library, but everything else that I saved to the library, is still in my timeline.

    Has that been everyone else's experience, too?

      Hi Jonathan. Can you confirm what youā€™re seeing? The AI-generated assets were inserted into your project at the slide level but are no longer in your slides after trial expiration?

        Hey David. This happened midway through the build on a 'side project' - I embedded an AI generated sound effect in the  slide master and shortly later it stopped working. I cracked open the master slide and found the sound effect had inexplicably disappeared. The triggers were still there, with 'unassigned' blanks. It was then I saw my trial had expired. On this ocassion, the missing sound effect was the only one I didn't add to the media library.

        Just cracked open the .story file this challenge, and everything appears to be intact, thankfully. I can no longer generate assets, but everything I created during the trial is still there, on the timeline.

        I'm wondering if this was a glitch due to using the master slide and the .story file being open at the same time as the trial ended?

        I assume we don't need to save AI assets to the media library, they should just be saved on the timeline?
