Medical E-Learning #69: Challenge | Recap

We had a lively discussion this week on finding your niche in the e-learning industry. One of my takeaways was the need for course designers to think strategically about the courses they include in their portfolios.

When companies are hiring or contracting, they tend to look for industry-related examples. So, if a medical company is looking to contract course designers, they’re likely to notice portfolios with medical examples.

Since the e-learning challenges are all about helping you practice your skills while building your portfolio, this week’s challenge is to build some medical content to round out your project portfolio.

Challenge of the Week

This week your challenge is to build an e-learning game, presentation, or interaction for a medical topic or concept. You can pick any area of healthcare you like but the focus should be around the medical industry.

Tools

You can use Articulate Studio ’13, Storyline, PowerPoint or another authoring tool to build your medical interaction.

Resources

Here are some resources that might help you build your challenge entry. If you have any suggestions for free medical or healthcare content, please share them in the comments below. I would really like to offer more content sources for this challenge.

Free Medical Graphics

Bryan Jones shared a free medical pack in the forums this morning. This looks like a great starter kit to help you build your demo.
