I love looking over the products from these challenges. But they sure make me feel inadequate! You all are so creative! Where do you get the graphics for your projects? I can do the instructional design, but feel like I need to be a graphic designer to produce this kind of quality work. Also, most of what I do is end-user training for software applications. I always have trouble using gamification in my courses.

Hi Amanda!
If you're interested in creating a simple game I'd suggest using any of the free templates in the Downloads section as an easy starting point.
Though not necessarily software training, I recently created a game to familiarize people with the E-Learning Heroes site.
For software training you could use the same approach: Give the learner relevant and meaningful tasks to accomplish using the software and build a game around that. Here's the demo and explanation of mine: http://www.jackievannice.com/?p=175067662
And don't forget the challenges are a great place to play! Start where you are and just have fun. :)
