- WilliamEverh218Community MemberGreat work, Troy. How did you make the progress bar at the top? Not sure I have ever seen this feature in a Rise course.
- AimeePerez-b296Community MemberWilliam - The progress bar is an automatic feature in the platform, and its color depends on your chosen accent color. Sometimes, it can be hard to see depending on the accent color and the color of your first block. However, I have noticed that it is only present in the Rise theme. It is not available if you select the Apex or Horizon themes, which might be why you aren't seeing it. Hopefully that helps!
- PaulJohnsCommunity MemberProbably a simple question !
How was the Top 10 Canadian Wonders part done ? I take it theres no vertical process interaction. Was it just lots of text/graphics seperate i presume ?- TroyAshman-4235Community MemberHi Paul, I built the 'Top 10 Canadian Wonders' part as a timeline pre-built interaction as I was trying to use a range of different designs within the course. I hope this is helpful!
- CarolNorth-6915Community MemberLoved this! Thanks for sharing :) I need to use Rise with more confidence and your example shows me how.
- TroyAshmanCommunity MemberThanks Carol, glad I could help you become more confidence with Rise. It truly is a great tool!
- TimSpaidCommunity MemberI'm a little confused as to whether the card sorting functionality in the Pop Quiz was developed in Storyline and embedded in Rise or if there is functionality in Rise that I have yet to discover. Thank you.
- TimSpaidCommunity MemberI think I just answered my own question. I have been using Blocks so much that I forgot about the predefined content options.
- LindaLorenzettiSuper HeroGreat course Troy. I looked at your profile because I thought you must be a fellow Canadian, but nice to find an Aussie who enjoyed spending time here. Where did you stay when you visited.
I got all of the quiz questions right, except what documentation is needed to visit Canada. :) - BethanyBovardCommunity MemberI enjoyed this. Informative and interesting.
I did have problems with card sorting using my Samsung Galaxy Note4 using Chrome browser.
However, using the built-in browser on same phone I had no problems - the activity worked fine.
I think the Google Pixel uses Chrome browser as default... I wonder if we (Nicole and I) are experiencing challenges because of Chrome or something else... Hmmmm. - KellyLyboldtCommunity MemberI'm new to rise and loved the True False Pop Quiz -- did you create this using the sorting activity or the quiz? I'm trying to figure it out but can't. Please help!
- TroyAshman-4235Community MemberHi Dr. Kelly Lyboldt, apologise for the delay in replying. Hope you are enjoying Rise! The 'pop quiz' was created using the sorting cards feature and the 'quiz' at the end was built using the quizzing feature. I hope this helps?
- MikeMyers-4accaCommunity MemberNice job! Could you share the project plz?
Regards.- TroyAshman-4235Community MemberHi Mike, I unfortunately can't share the project as this was built in the trial version of Articulate 360 and since have upgraded under another account so I lost the original :(
I am hoping to re-build it again so I'll update if I can!- MikeMyers-4accaCommunity MemberYou can save as template, and then share it like a single file. :)
Regards.
- RefugioJonesCommunity MemberWow, very cool! I liked all of the interaction and quizzes. Nice work!
- MichaelS-d10175Community MemberVery nice, Troy, and informative as well. :) Given the circumstances of early-Nov 2016 and mid/late-Jan 2017, like many Americans I kind of want to move to Canada, and your course only increases that desire! ;)
Question: None of the websites you reference have clickable links that open a separate window (well, no links that do anything at all). Does Rise not support/enable this? I think that would be a huge downside, and since I didn't try to "link out" to anything in my own initial stab at course development with this new tool, I'd really like to know whether this is possible. I do know you can put a link into the click-able, interactive info-graphics (like your map), but your interface makes me wonder if the overall "blocks" lack this feature ... ?
I was doing this on a Windows 10 tablet and, like Nicole above, I found that the quiz with card-sorting was "dead-on-arrival" until I clicked back into my keyboard/mousepad. I know from already having had contact with Articulate Support staff that Rise is *not* especially touch-responsive, yet that is "the way the world is going," so I really hope the company reconsiders this important point 'cuz I'd like to see this product succeed!- TroyAshman-4235Community MemberThanks Michael for the feedback! Canada is an amazing place to visit (spent 2 years abroad here), so hope you get the chance to visit some day. :)
Rise does support clickable links which open in seperate windows but this course doesn't feature external links. I'd love to see Articulate add in a 'footer' section where you can put links or additional resources to that specific lesson the learner is in, or at least a 'Resources' tab.
