I don't think it's the left/right brain thing that's the real issue here. It's people taking a small idea and broadening it to mean something that it isn't which is the problem.

People are now talking about convergent and divergent thinkers - people who like detail and people who are happier looking at the big picture for example - which is a long the similar lines.
