It's quite a list:
- The new site does not have the old Bookmark Function. It was invaluable to easily refer back to useful posts. Yes, I can use browser bookmarks, but the old Bookmark Function was much easier to use.
- When I get an email notification that a thread I am subscribed to has been updated, at least 75% of the time it does not take me directly to that post and I have to search for it
- In these cases, finding the most recent post (especially in a long thread) can be problematic and very time consuming. On the old site, the most recent post was always at the very bottom. On the new site, because responses are nested, and depending on how the person responded (which comment they replied to), it can be difficult to find the most recent post. In a long thread, you also constantly have to click through Show More.
- At the main level of the forums (all products) you have these options: Most Recent / Newest Topics / No Replies. However, as soon as you filter to a product, e.g. Rise 360, those options disappear. Why?
- In the old system, you could seen the name of the most recent poster. In the new site it shows the name of the original poster. I used the name of the most recent poster often to identify posts of high value forum contributors.
- Lastly, a really annoying one: on the new system, I'm scrolling down the long list of forum posts, and click on a post that interests me. I read a few comments and click the browser back button to return to the list of posts. What happens is that I'm not returned to where I was last viewing the list of posts. Instead I'm kicked back all the way to the top of the list, and have to scroll a long way down to get back where I was viewing the list previously.
So overall the new site, based on how I personally use it, is incredibly slow to navigate and very difficult to find information.
For reasons of your own, you may like the new site, but pretty much all of the useful features I used in the old forums are now gone.
